Meets Saw
Meets Running Man
Meets Hunger GamesIt definitely helped that Damien from The Final Winter was the main character in this novel. Definitely helped to garner interest and sympathy (I was totally yelling at my Kindle during “The Final Winter”) I love How Iain weaves other stories into this one (The Final Winter, Sam and Seasick).
The story started innocuous enough: twelve seemingly picked random strangers to spend 10 days in a house, participate in activities and eliminations with the survivor winning up to 2 million pounds. What they do not know is that they are not there by chance. They are there because someone from their past wants revenge and wants them dead!
The story was fast paced from the beginning and sucked me in from the first chapter. It was not hard to imagine in my mind the competitors, the house or the challenges. (Does that mean I have watched too many horror movies?)
I had a really hard time putting it down.
This is definitely a 5 star story and one I can definitely see myself reading again!
